Since the end of World War II, returning American GIs and their newly-wed brides needed a retreat to celebrate their new lives together.
The Poconos had been a favorite destination for people living in the Metro regrions of the Northeast, and now a few resorts - mostly collections of small cabins - sprouted up to provide a romantic setting where these lovers could re-unite.

Take in evening entertainment venues such as dancing to live bands, comedy shows, directed social events such as the R-rated "Newly Wed Game and more.
