How NOT to get ripped of when you make a reservation

Yup, I'm afraid so, there, 'lil buddy. But read on, Gilligan, and I'll show the ropes.

Expedia - Adds about 4% to your total. Plus they charge you the entire amount right up front.

Orbitz - Adds around 3% - not quite as painful, same up front charge. "Fees" used to cover the administrative cost of paying the sales tax on you room.

Poconos Best - no upfront fees, but they will charge you $25.00 if you change or cancel your reservation - so they say.

Poconos Hotels - Same outfit as Poconos Best - same "Best" cancellation penalty you'd expect.
