The Poconos features some really cool fairs and festivals - mostly during the summer months and early fall.

The local 4H groups exhibit their animals and projects at some of the agricultural fairs - it's always a treat for the kids to see farm animals - particularly the 4H animals, since they are usually quiet friendly and well adapted to humans.

Shawnee puts on a hot air balloon festival that features a brilliant collection of different colored hot air balloons. You can ride in one if you like.

So, maybe you might want to coordinate your trip or vacation to the Poconos during one of these fairs and festivals. Most of them are worthwhile.

Poconos Film Festival

The Pocono Mountains Film Festival was founded by Bridget Davis in 2003 to provide independent filmmakers with a forum to present their films to a wider audience of professionals in the industry, and to introduce new innovative films to residents and visitors in the Pocono Mountains region.

Situated in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the annual Pocono Mountains Film Festival is a 3 day, multi-event celebration offering film screenings, workshops, Awards banquet, and other related special events.

The Pocono Mountains Film Festival is designed to facilitate networking, information sharing, and creative exchange among industry professionals and newly emerging independent filmmakers, encouraging the participation of skilled artists in areas of producing, direction, screenwriting, acting, cinematography, composing, editing and production design.
